Most commercial “diet programs” treat with weight gain as a purely physical issue, as though the problem were just a matter of what goes into the mouth. We at the Aidlin Institute understand that although it is the mouth that takes in food, it is the brain that makes the decisions. In order to lose weight, we must begin from the head.
At the Aidlin Institute, students learn how to align what their minds want with what their bodies need through a seven-week study course that explores the theory and practice of healthy eating. There are no “weigh-ins” or public confessions: each three-hour session consists of a dynamic presentation by Dr. Aidlin, with an opportunity for personal questions afterwards. Dr. Aidlin will also answer questions by phone or email.
Topics covered include:
At the end of the first meeting, participants receive a menu with three levels of difficulty, and each person chooses a level for him- or herself. The menu, and the instructions
which come with it, are just a jumping-off point. The goal of the course is for participants to acquire the tools to make their own eating decisions, rationally and without relying on others for directions. Each participant decides independently to what extent he or she will implement what is learned.
Free introductory sessions are offered before each course begins. These last for 1 ½ hours, and there is no obligation to continue with the course. The number of seats is limited – please call or email in advance to reserve a place.
